Aena announces the call for proposals for the "Aena supporting research" programme to promote research and technology transfer projects in the airport sector, insofar as they contribute to drawing conclusions to address problems, needs or opportunities in the sector, especially in areas related to social and environmental sustainability and the sustainable transformation of air transport. The projects will be developed by research groups, teams or departments of recognised standing in their field.
The aim is to provide financial support for research projects in the following areas:
- Carbon neutrality.
- Sustainable aviation.
- Responsible use of resources.
- Community and sustainable value chain.
- Social commitment.
The research grants programme is endowed with a maximum amount of €840,000 for the total duration of 4 years. This financial endowment will be distributed between up to 3 research projects:
- A maximum of two research projects will be selected in the following areas:
- Carbon neutrality.
- Sustainable aviation.
- Responsible use of resources.
- Community and value chain.
Each project will be eligible for a maximum of €360,000 for the total duration of the programme (€90,000/year).
- A maximum of one research project will be selected in the following area:
This project will be eligible for a maximum of €120,000 for the total duration of the programme (€30,000/year).
Financial aid will be granted for a maximum period of four years, starting from the date of commencement of the agreement between the beneficiary and Aena.
As a result, they will contribute to the promotion of research and technology transfer in the sector, as well as to the generation of knowledge to address problems, needs or opportunities, especially in areas related to social and environmental sustainability and the sustainable transformation of air transport, exploring possible new solutions and alternatives that benefit the community, the natural environment and sustainable development.
