Operational Safety Policy | Aena S.M.E., S.A.

Aena S.M.E., S.A., as the company managing Spanish general interest airports and heliports, takes on the responsibility of providing its services in a safe, orderly, smooth and efficient manner. In line with this responsibility, Aena establishes a commitment to achieve, maintain and promote the safe provision of the services assigned to it, integrating Operational Safety management into the airport processes and activities, in accordance with the following duties:

  1. Ensure that the contribution of airport activity to overall aviation safety is optimal, with safety being the highest organisational priority, overriding commercial, operational, environmental or social pressures.
  2. Safety management for airport activity shall be a formal, explicit and systematic preventive activity.

This commitment is integrated into all airport processes and activities and has been formalised in its Operational Safety Policy.

It establishes the principles, responsibilities and guidelines that guarantee the integration of operational safety in each process and decision, ensuring a safe, orderly and efficient environment for all airport system users, contributing to the total safety of civil aviation.
