Accessibility

Aena SME, S.A. provides its users with a practical communications channel which is universally accessible; it aims to remove barriers and improve the presence of its website, according to criteria of maximum simplicity, scope and effectiveness, in order to disseminate information and publicise the services on offer to people wishing to receive information.

This action conforms with the resolution of the Council of the European Union dated 25 March 2002, on the E-Europe 2002 Action Plan, "Accessibility of public web sites and their content", complies with the dispositions of the Law of Services of the Information Society and of Electronic Business dated 11 July 2002 and follows the indications of the "Guía para la edición y publicación de las páginas web de la Administración General del Estado” (Guide for writing and publication of web pages of the General State Administration).

WAI Guidelines

Aena is working to achieve Double-A certificate validation for its website content, in accordance with the recommendations of the WAI (Web Accessibility Initiative), an international working group which is part of the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) and which works to ensure that no group experiences discrimination of any kind which could lead to social fractures in the virtual world.

In this sense, the techniques used in the Aena portal follow those recommended by the WAI, regarding both XHML and CSS, with the exception of PDF documents, subtitling and audio-description of all videos and multimedia players used.
